We have been Mac fanatics since 1984 (128K Mac Plus) and so have served our time with the frustrations we all have not being offered the software we want. Look along the shelves of WH Smith, Staples et al and the only personal tax software is Windows-based.
As an Accountant (and former Inland Revenue Officer) with his own practice, our chief designer David Ross can do something to ease this frustration in his own area of expertise.
Family Tax 99 is a 3-user version of professional software used by firms of Accountants. Three members of a family can complete the Tax Forms on screen, do the calculations and print Revenue-approved facsimile forms for submission to the Tax Office.
Family Tax 99, unlike some of its competitors, is not afraid of Foreign Income, Partnership Income etc. and its calculations use the top-level calculation standard prescribed by the Inland Revenue.
Enclosed here is a demonstration copy which has its calculation functions disabled and prints a 'watermark' message on the forms. You are welcome to use and play with it to your heart's content and if you want to use it in anger, phone us with the Registration Screen open and your payment card details to hand - cost £20.00. We will give you an unlocking code to turn your demonstration version into fully working software.
We recommend that you obtain from your Tax Office hard copies of the forms you will need and of the guidance notes that go with them. They are very helpful and comprehensive and as a matter of principle you are entitled to quote back at the Revenue the advice they give you on completion of the forms. For this reason it is safest - in your own interests - to rely on the Inland Revenue's own guidelines.
